The Eden Foundation is a non-governmental, non profit organisation established in 1992. It presently has 343 students. with an additional 50 now on the waiting list. The purpose of the foundation is to provide partnership to people in Malta and Gozo with learning disabilities, in order to help them, achieve full inclusion to the best of their abilities by gaining access to mainstream education, employment and leisure activities - leading them to an independent life. Fon many of the children. young adults and families. the foundation provides an educationa; and therapeutic service through a series of professional programmes so that these people can both integrate and function in places of education, employment or social circumstances. The Eden foundation is a non-profit organasation and state as part of its statute that no child will be turned away because parents are unable to contribute towards the costs. Indeed there is a special emphasis on parents as well to help them learn to both accept and guide their child on the way forward to a more socially integrated life. With over 150 employees, who include Psychologists, Tutors, Speech and language Pathologists, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to name few, The Eden Foundation is committed to being a friend, guide and educator to all the people who need us. |
